Privacy statement
Two Ears handles your personal data with care. This statement explains how we handle the data of people who contact a confidential counsellor, clients and website visitors.
Last updated: 6 November 2026
1. Who are we?
Two Ears is the controller for the processing of personal data described in this statement.
- Tuin van Hera 11, 1093 NP Amsterdam, the Netherlands
- contact@twoears.nl
2. If you contact a confidential counsellor
Confidential contact
Your contact with a confidential counsellor is confidential. Without your consent, we don't tell your employer who you are, that you've been in touch or what you discussed. Only in exceptional situations, such as a legal obligation or immediate danger, may it be necessary to depart from this.
What data do we keep?
We use your contact details to make appointments and stay in touch with you. The confidential counsellor takes notes of your conversations and keeps them separate from your name and contact details. We only record what's needed to support you. Your employer has no access to this data.
We keep your data for as long as it's needed for your support and any follow-up questions. After that, we delete it.
When using the contact form, email or WhatsApp, please share only what's needed to make an appointment.
3. For clients
We process business contact details and billing details to fulfil our agreements, stay in touch and keep our accounts. We do this on the basis of our agreement and our legal accounting obligations.
We keep tax records for seven years, as required by law. Other business data is kept for as long as needed for our collaboration and its completion.
Any annual report on the confidential counsellor's work contains only numbers and general themes that cannot be traced back to individuals.
4. For website visitors and other contacts
If you contact us or book an introductory call via Microsoft Bookings, we use your name, contact details and the information you share to answer your question or arrange the appointment. We do this to prepare an agreement or based on our legitimate interest in answering questions.
We keep enquiries and introductory calls with no follow-up for no longer than one year after they have been dealt with.
Our hosting provider processes technical data, such as your IP address, to keep the website running properly and securely. This is based on our legitimate interest in keeping the website secure.
The website doesn't use tracking or advertising cookies and doesn't collect visitor statistics. The WhatsApp button is an ordinary link to a service with its own privacy and cookie policy. The calendar for booking an introductory call is loaded via Microsoft Bookings, which may set its own cookies.
5. Security and suppliers
We take appropriate measures to protect personal data. Only people who need the data for their work have access to it.
To run our business, we use Microsoft for email and appointments, Vercel for the website and contact form, and accounting software for business billing details. We have agreements with our suppliers on protecting personal data. We don't sell personal data.
If suppliers process data outside the European Economic Area, the required safeguards apply, such as approved standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
If you use WhatsApp, WhatsApp also processes data under its own privacy terms.
6. Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data. Where applicable, you can also object, ask us to restrict processing or have your data transferred. You can withdraw any consent you have given at any time.
Email your request to contact@twoears.nl. We'll respond within one month.
You're not obliged to share data with us. Without the necessary data, however, we may not be able to answer your question or make an appointment. We don't make automated decisions about you or create profiles.
Unhappy with how we handle your data? Please contact us. You can also file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
